Description	Cádiz is a city and port in southwestern Spain. It is the capital of the province of the same name, one of eight which make up the autonomous community of Andalusia. Cádiz, the oldest continuously-inhabited city in the Iberian Peninsula and possibly of all southwestern Europe, has been a principal home port of the Spanish Navy since the accession of the Spanish Bourbons in the 18th century. It is also the site of the University of Cádiz.

Despite its unique site, Cádiz is, in most respects, a typically Andalusian city with a wealth of attractive vistas and well-preserved historical landmarks. The older part of Cádiz, within the remnants of the city walls, is commonly referred to as the Old City (in Spanish, Casco Antiguo). It is characterized by the antiquity of its various quarters (barrios), among them El Populo, La Viña, and Santa Maria, which present a marked contrast to the newer areas of town. While the Old City's street plan consists largely of narrow winding alleys connecting large plazas, newer areas of Cádiz typically have wide avenues and more modern buildings. In addition, the city is dotted by numerous parks where exotic plants, including giant trees supposedly brought to Spain by Columbus, flourish.

Our school is based in the beautiful old part of the city in one of the most central and quietest ´pedestrian only´ streets….Calle Ancha. What could be nicer…. surrounded by universities, plazas, coffee shops, bars, monuments, libraries, shops…but unbelievably students can easy be at the beach in only five minutes walking time... a fantastic location.

Description
The Spanish Standard course is aimed at students who wish to learn Spanish within a long term period course.
Each day you will have 4 Spanish lessons in groups of a maximum of 8 students. It is available for all levels: from beginners to the most advanced.
Two lessons of grammar and two lessons of practice per day, which include grammar exercises, writing, listening, vocabulary improvement, phonetic practice, conversation, etc., to help you approaching to the Spanish language and culture.

The best way to get involved in the Spanish lifestyle is to live in a homestay with a local host family. Homestay accommodation is fun, convenient, practical, safe, and inexpensive. We have many host families representing a wide range of interests. All home stays are arranged carefully. Our staff will select a homestay that suits everyone personal needs

Student Apartments

All the apartments are close to the school, the majority have two or three bedrooms, and are shared between 3 or 4 people. They are fully equipped with modern appliances (Fridge, TV, washing machine, cooker etc). See our example below, which we hope will give you a better idea of the standard of accommodation that we offer here at K2 INTERNACIONAL.

Although students are given a list with accommodation rules, they will be living with other people so they will have to set their own rules, such as cleaning schedule, food cooking, T.V. programs and general expenses…

Flats can be shared with students of the school or Spanish ones.

Double rooms are only for those students who enrol together.

Gas, electricity and water expenses are included on the price.

If you would like to stay in a hotel, hostel, youth hostel or residence, please consult your K2 INTERANCIONAL Counsellor, he/she will supply you information and approximated fees.

If you prefer to have your own apartment, you should contact the school in order to tell us your particular preferences and budget. The school will advice you and look for something according to your needs. You will take the last decision about the apartment.

Activities students party

We believe that the Social activities are a great way to know more about the language and the culture; therefore we have a wide range of leisure and cultural extra activities
Some of the activities you can do while study with us are:

-Every Monday we have a Spanish film screening. This is a good activity to improve student’s oral comprehension and help them to know more about the Spanish culture. surf classes

-Every two weeks the students will be able to discover the most amazing sites and the most important monuments of the city. They will go on a guided tour with one of the teachers who will introduce them the city.

-Going for tapas is a very typical custom of the Spanish culture. People meet in a bar to have tapas, drink a glass of wine or a beer. We also like students to know the authentic bars and dishes, not just those for foreigners.

-International meals are organized at the school. Students and teachers prepare a dish to share, and all of us enjoy tasting new flavours and talking about the traditions of other countries.

-Sports at beach like surf or beach volleyball. excursion to morocco

-Every 2 weeks we have welcome or farewell parties. Teachers and students meet at one bar to talk, have a drink and dance.

High season: From June 28 to September 26, 2009.

Note:
It’s necessary to leave a deposit of 150 € (payable in cash) upon arrival. The deposit shall be returned to the student at the end of the stay provided there are not damages to the apartment.
The accommodation stars on Sunday before the first day of classes (18:00 – 20:00) and ends on Saturday after the last day of the course (12:00). If the student needs to arrive earlier or later, he needs to contact the person in charge.
One week before the course starts, the person in charge of the accommodation will provide to the students the address and where they can pick up the keys.
Students can rent the towel and bed linen. Price: 18 € (just one payment).
Double rooms are only available for those students coming together.
